Works consisted of full redecoration to the entirety of the property along with a complete roof replacement, specialist masonry repairs including the tuck pointing to the existing window heads, complete stucco replacement to the ground floor and cleaning/repairs of the mosaic tiles to the main entrance of the building.

PJH are delighted to announce the successful completion of the external works to this 14th century, Grade II* listed, covered market building which is located in the historic centre of The City of London financial district.
Over the last decade PJH had previously undertaken external works within Leadenhall Market on three separate occasions and this experience helped ensure that the phase 5 were carried out to the highest possible standards, and with a minimum of inconvenience to the commercial tenants and the general public.
The works included extensive structural repairs to the timber trusses and beams, cleaning and restoration of ornate stonework and brickwork, roofing, glazing and window repairs, decorations and restoration of artwork and gilding.

Great James Street

On commencement of this project the roof condition and windows were found to be in a considerably poor state of repair. Virtually all of the front windows needed complete overhauling, replacement of ornate architraves, cills and various replacements.
Together with the aid of a specialist joinery shop our team of skilled carpenters restored all windows to their original glory. The roof was overlaid in timber to create adequate falls then insulated and overlaid in Triflex Liquid plastics. The remaining building was cleaned using a Doff brick clean, miscellaneous brick and stone repairs were carried out then completely the building was re-decorated to a high quality finish. This building was completed looking as good as the day it was built, much to the satisfaction of our client and residents.
